Mauritius Red Cross acquires a brand new Ambulance

The keys for a new ambulance were handed by the CEO of Phoenix Beverages, Bernard Theys to the President of Mauritius Red Cross, Me Siven Tirvassen on Saturday 05th September 2020 in the presence of the Minister of Health and Welness, Hon. Dr. Kailash Jagutpal at Mauritius Red Cross Headquarters, Curepipe. The new ambulance was acquired through the support from Coca Cola Foundation.
 
It was also an opportunity to thank all volunteers from the Mauritius Red Cross who contributed to Covid-19 operations during the lockdown. They all received a Certificate of Appreciation.

We also handed over the first food packs to the identified beneficiaries. Same will continue in the coming weeks.

During his speech the President of the Mauritius Red Cross reiterated our support to the authorities during crisis periods. He declared « We had a close collaboration with the SAMU during the COVID 19 and I assure you, Honourable Minister, that as an Auxiliary to the State, the Society is bound to work closely with your Ministry. We cannot nor we shall be in competition with the Authorities. »

The Hon. Dr Kailash Jagutpal congratulated all volunteers from the Mauritius Red Cross who contributed to operations during the pandemic and encouraged the youth to join us as volunteers.

The CEO of the Phoenix Beverages, Mr Bernard Theys on his side mentioned that together with the Coca Cola Foundation they will continue to support the Mauritius Red Cross in upcoming projects.
