Hon. Maneesh Gobin, Attorney-General, Minister of Justice, Human Rights and Institutional Reforms has launched a week’s training on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and International Disaster Law (IDL) organised by the Mauritius Red Cross in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, Human Rights and Institutional Reforms with the support of the Italian Red Cross on this Monday 19th November at the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre.
A panel of trainers headed by Ms. Anastasia Siena, Head of Delegation and Vice- President of the National Commission International Humanitarian Law of the Italian Red Cross, will facilitate the different training sessions which will benefit to the Officers of the Ministry of Justice, Mauritius Police Force, the State Law Office, the DPP’s Office and other Ministries and Departments.
The week will end with the training of “Raid Cross” Operators. The Raid Cross uses the methodology of a role-play game and through demonstrations, practical cases, group work, and simulation it makes the learning process of IHL more effective for the Youth.
