Astronauts are protected by a treaty. People facing disasters should be too. Right now, UN member states are working toward a new treaty to help protect people before, during and after disasters. When disasters strike, delays cost lives. IFRC is calling for stronger international rules so aid can move faster, cooperation is clearer and people are better protected. If humanity can agree rules to rescue people returning from space, we can agree rules to protect people living here on Earth.

🌍 Formation BDRT spécialisée “Épidémies” – Rodrigues, 20 au 22 août 2026 La Mauritius Red Cross, avec l’appui du PIROI Center - Croix-Rouge française et de AFD - Agence Française de Développement, a organisé une formation de trois jours destinée aux volontaires BDRT et aux agents communautaires de santé de Rodrigues. 👉 Objectif : renforcer les capacités locales de prévention, détection et réponse rapide face aux crises sanitaires, dans une approche intégrée One Health reliant santé humaine, animale et environnementale. Au programme : (a) Sessions interactives sur les épidémies et la communication en urgence. (b) Exercices pratiques sur l’utilisation des Équipements de Protection Individuelle (EPI). (c) Introduction aux premiers secours psychologiques en contexte épidémique. (d) Un SIMEX réaliste simulant une flambée de dengue, permettant aux équipes mixtes de tester la coordination interinstitutionnelle et communautaire. ✅ Résultats : 25 participants (volontaires et agents communautaires) ont renforcé leurs compétences techniques et pratiques. 🎓 La cérémonie de clôture, présidée par le Président de la Mauritius Red Cross, s’est conclue par la remise des certificats de participation, valorisant l’engagement et la motivation des équipes. Cette formation illustre la volonté de la CRMu et de ses partenaires de renforcer la résilience sanitaire de Rodrigues et de promouvoir une coopération durable entre institutions et communautés. #croixrougemaurice #piroicentre#AfD #rodriguesisland #BDRT#santé #OneHealth #resilience
